Hall of Honor
Bumgarnder coached San Angelo College in transition from junior college to Angelo State a four-year institution. He guided the Rams from 1950 -1968 and made four bowl appearances (1950 Oleander Bowl, 1951 Oleander Bowl, 1955 Hospitality Bowl and 1960 Hospitality Bowl). Bumgardner compiled a 74-74-2 overall record at ASU including his stint as coach of the San Angelo College Rams and recruited and coached former Ram coach Jerry Vandergriff. He is the second winningest coach in school history. In the 10 years as the coach of San Angelo College, he had zero losing seasons and won five Pioneer Conference Championships.
