Angelo State University Athletics

Turner played football and ran track & field at Angelo State. He holds ASU single game record for interceptions in a game with three and was a member of the 1978 national championship team. He picked off three passes in the 1978 semifinals against Western State to help secure the win. He was an All-LSC selection 1977 and 1978 at defensive back and later played for the Green Bay Packers. He was also a standout on the track winning the 1977 national championship in the 200-meters. He is the school record holder in the 100-meters with a time of 10.19 and was a three-time All-American.
