Tim Howard is the Rams' all-time leading scorer with 1,844 points from 1985-89.  He also ranks atop ASU's career list for field goals made (690) and ranks second in rebounds (629) and free throws made (401) and eighth in blocked shots (39).

In 1988, Howard recorded the best single season in Ram history with 728 points, averaging a conference-best 22 points per game, leading ASU to 22 wins, the most wins ever by a Ram men's basketball team.  He guided the Rams to back-to-back Lone Star Conference regular-season and tournament championships and trips to the NCAA Division II National Tournament in 1988 and 1989.

In 1989, Howard was named the LSC's Most Valuable Player.  During his four years with the program, ASU boasted a 69-46 overall record
