Hall of Honor
A four-time All-American for the Rams, Bohensky won the 1995 NCAA Division II National Championship in the decathlon, scoring 7,256 points to win the title. He followed that up with a runner-up finish at the 1996 national championships while also claiming seventh overall in the high jump. A leader on the field and in the classroom, Bohensky was an Academic All-American and a two-time winner of the Nathan’s Award. He went on to qualify for the Olympic Training Center Decathlon Program and attended the Olympic Festival for the decathlon. After finishing his athletic career, he continued as a graduate assistant coach before coaching two state champions in the pole vault and triple jump at Bronte High School. Bohensky graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English before earning his master’s degree in school administration from ASU and then his doctorate in education from Lamar University. He is married to Amy Bippert-Bohensky, who is also a member of the ASU Hall of Honor. They have three children, Analyn, Emalyn and Katelyn, who is a member of the ASU women’s track & field team.
